Frequently asked questions

What formats can I enter?

Any IPv4 address such as 8.8.8.8, any IPv6 address such as 2001:db8::1, or a bare 32-bit decimal integer such as 134744072. The tool detects the format automatically.

How is an address converted to an integer?

The four IPv4 octets are combined into one 32-bit value, so 8.8.8.8 becomes 134744072. IPv6 addresses are 128-bit and are shown as decimal and hexadecimal big integers.

Is anything uploaded?

No, every conversion runs locally in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
