Ping Test

Measure round-trip latency from your browser to Cloudflare, Google, or any URL. See average, min, max, jitter and loss — all calculated locally.

Pick a target and press Start ping to measure latency.

How this ping works

This is a browser-based approximation of ping. It times an HTTP request (fetch(…, { mode: 'no-cors' })) until response headers arrive — that is HTTP round-trip time, not an ICMP ping, so it includes protocol overhead. Some hosts also block cross-origin browser requests (CORS), which can inflate or fail samples. Use a real network ping tool if you need ICMP-level accuracy.

Frequently asked questions

How does a browser ping test work?

This tool times how long a fetch request takes to reach a target URL and get a response header back, using the browser Performance API. It measures HTTP round-trip time, not ICMP ping.

Why is browser ping different from ICMP ping?

Browsers cannot send ICMP packets. This tool uses no-cors fetch requests, so results include HTTP overhead and may be affected by CORS, caching and browser limits — they are an approximation of real network latency.

What is jitter?

Jitter is the average absolute difference between consecutive latency samples. A low jitter value means your connection latency is stable over time.
