ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

Why it happens

The login credentials are wrong for the given service, or the account is only allowed on another service/container.

How to fix it

Re-check the username, password and tnsnames service. Reset the password with your DBA (ALTER USER ... IDENTIFIED BY ...) and confirm the user scopes to the container in question.
