DNS Propagation Checker

Ask four independent DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers for the same record and compare their answers. Useful after changing an A, CNAME, MX or TXT record, or when a domain works for one person but not another.

Resolvers are sampled, not queried per region. Results reflect caches, TTLs and geo-based answers.

Frequently asked questions

How does this check work?

The tool asks several independent public DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers for the same record at the same time, then compares the answers and shows which resolver returned what.

Why do resolvers disagree?

Caches keep records until their TTL expires, and some providers use regional or geo-based answers. A recent change can appear at one resolver before another.

How long should propagation take?

It depends on the old TTL. A one-hour TTL usually clears within an hour; a 24-hour TTL can take a day. There is no fixed global waiting period.

Does this query every name server?

No. Browsers cannot query authoritative servers directly, so this samples public recursive resolvers. Treat it as a practical view of what users receive, not a complete audit.
