Hreflang Generator & Validator
Build rel="alternate" hreflang tags for multilingual pages, or paste an existing set to check it. The tool validates language codes, absolute URLs, duplicates, missing x-default and self-reference, then gives you copy-ready markup.

Frequently asked questions
What are hreflang tags?
They tell search engines which language and regional versions of a page exist. Each tag uses rel="alternate", an hreflang code and an absolute URL.
Do I need x-default?
It is recommended. x-default names the page shown when no other language matches, such as a language selector. Keep exactly one.
Why a self-referencing tag?
Every page should list itself as well as the alternatives. Without it search engines may ignore the cluster or choose a different canonical page.
Can this check return tags?
No. It reads the tags you paste, but it cannot fetch the other pages to confirm they link back. Check the whole set page by page, or use a crawler for a full audit.
